Anyone for a little Foos?
I never really got the hang of table football. I found it a lot more fun with other players, as trying to control all of the players at the same time was a bit of a nightmare. Especially after a few pints.
Grip Digital have thought about this it seems, since for this version all four rows of players are controlled simultaneously via the left stick, while the action of shooting and passing is dealt with by the right. And that’s pretty much all there is to it.
The main aim of the world tour, which serves as the single player aspect of the game in which you aim to complete the twenty teams featured. Along the way you will find the rules changing slightly each time, with the aim of the game changing and the difficulty of your opponents increasing as you progress further. Success at these games unlocks different options for you to play yourself outside of the career modes, and different looks for your players.
As you earn points for your victories, you can unlock some skill shots to aid you in your play (or you can pay to unlock them from the store) and if you can get them to work may give you a slight advantage for a while, and these are activated by the face buttons.
It all looks nice enough, for what it is, there is very little in terms of sounds though aside from the extremely repetetive noise of the ball clunking around. The game also benefits from cross buy and cross save features, which is great for those with a PS3, one copy on both systems and the ability to take your progress with you on the road, which is a nice touch but this game is unlikely to really serve any longeivity. It may be fun for a while and in short bursts, but very quickly gets frustrating, and for myself at least, may have you yearning for some proper football.
- It’s a decent approximation of Foosball
- It has cross buy and cross save
- It gets very annoying, and quickly
- It’s pretty expensive for what it is
